App lock and privacy
Lock the app with your fingerprint or face, keep amounts off your home screen, and know where your data is and how to take it with you.
App lock (Android app)
Turn it on in Settings → Security → This phone → App lock. From then on, Exp Planner asks for your fingerprint or face (or your phone’s PIN, if those aren’t set up) when it opens, and again when you come back to it after a minute away.
- While it’s on, the app switcher shows no amounts.
- It’s for this phone only. Signing out turns it off.
- Links, Quick add from the widget and taps on notifications still take you where they point, once you’ve unlocked.
Keep amounts off your home screen
The Android widget shows Safe to spend on your home screen, where anyone can see it. Turn on Settings → Preferences → Hide amounts in widgets and it shows •••• instead.
Notifications don’t include amounts unless you allow it in Settings → Notifications.
Where your data is
- Your data is stored in a database in the European Union.
- Only your account can read it. Every row is locked to your account in the database itself.
- No ads, no data sales. Your data isn’t sold or shared with advertisers.
- No bank login. You import statements yourself; the app never asks for your bank password.
- Receipts you attach are kept in private storage that only your account can reach.
The Privacy Policy has the full details.
Take it with you, or delete it
In Settings → Data & privacy:
- export everything as JSON, or your transactions as CSV;
- restore from a JSON backup;
- delete all data and start over, or delete your account with everything in it, for good.
Signing out on a shared device
Sign out in Settings → Security signs out this device only. When someone else signs in on the same device, the previous person’s data is removed from it first.
