Funds
Save up for the big, rare payments, a little every month, so they don't land on one month alone.
Some costs come once a year or once in a while: car insurance, a holiday, a new laptop. A fund spreads them out. You put a little aside every month, and when the payment comes, the money is already there.
Make a fund
On a phone, the round + above the tab bar offers New fund first. Give it a name, a target and, if there is one, a date. Then choose how much to put aside a month and the account the money sits on. The card shows how far along you are and when you’ll get there at this pace (“at €80 a month, you’ll have it by June”).
A fund doesn’t need a deadline: “an emergency cushion of €3,000” works too.
Put money aside and spend it
- Set aside adds an amount to the fund, dated today.
- Spend from fund takes money out, and you can link it to the transaction it paid for.
- The history lists every contribution and spending; any of them can be deleted.
How funds affect your numbers
- What you put aside this month is taken out of Safe to spend, so you don’t spend it by accident.
- In Budget, the contribution shows as its own line in its category.
- If a bill is linked to a fund (the insurance bill to the insurance fund), paying the bill spends from the fund by itself.
